Old Dork Yells At Clouds

Yelling at clouds, one note at a time.

Bicycles Can Be Faster Than Cars...

...for certain values of X. I picked up my bike from the shop today, after they fixed some broken spokes and a flat tire. I had my lovely wife drop me off, and we both headed home at the same time. The 'as the crow flies' distance is about 2 miles. I made it back two minutes before her. For short distances, with a cyclist who knows the best local routes, a cyclist will beat a car stuck in rush hour traffic every time. Why do people insist that bikes are slower? She's gotten into the habit of chewing this gum for 30 minutes or so prior to bed. So when she has to brush her teeth, she gets rid of it in the most expedient way possible: sticking it to her dad. I don't have a problem with this as it...

I certainly won't guarantee that anyone will read it. I'm tired of the current era of the Internet. Like many things in the modern world, it's no longer a community. In the current era, the Internet only exists to monetize. Capital loves monopoly and monoculture, so we only have a handful of platforms that we are being increasingly locked into. ...
